Ok, so I would like some advice... I have three possible plans of action for future schooling endeavors....
1) Unofficially audit a Chaucer class because I love his stuff and can't make it to all of the class meetings but still want to learn. If I have the time I think I will, but I'm not sure with my classes and hopefully work in other labs...
2) Study abroad in Edinburgh, Scotland the first two weeks of August for studio art... I was thinking specifically in stained glass and painting?? I think it would be bad ass and it's one of the more reasonably priced study abroads as it's so short.... BUT. I would only be doing this for fun and nothing else really as the director for the minor told me flat out to my face that he would never let me graduate with a studio art minor as he wouldn't sign off on my classes. However, I don't think I will get this chance again and while I am hesitant about going because of the expense, I really really really want to... It also takes place during a huge performing arts festival which is a plus for me...
3) Take a year off before applying for grad school. In this year, work in a couple of labs and try to narrow my focus on where I want to go in Human Factors, take a third grad class (only 9 credits will transfer over), try to get an internship at Lockheed Martin for Human Factors and retake my GREs, this time ACTUALLY studying... I am nervous about taking a year off, but if I can get the internship and into the other labs I think it would be worth it as I could save up some money and have a fuller resume with higher GRE scores.... Plus, I should have (hopefully) two publications done this year if the submissions are accepted and more than likely work in one or two other labs specializing in cognition and virtual environments in Human Factors.... I don't know. I want to take the time and narrow my focus, but I am afraid of not getting in next year...
So. What do you guys think??? |

Apparently there is NOW, as in just this semester started, a Medieval and Renaissance Studies minor available at UCF. WTF. Where was this when I still had the time to schedule in the needed classes?! Now I'm stuck with not being able to take the classes and it makes me very sad. Yes, that makes me sad. On the up side though, I have managed to convince my Arthurian lit class teacher to let me unofficially audit his Chaucer lit class next semester as I'm taking another grad class on one of the days it is scheduled for.... >_<
If anyone here has a chance to take classes with Tyson Pugh, you should totally do it. He's awesome and hilarious.
Anyways, this Arthurian class is giving me lots of perverse pleasure in random things....

It's kinda sad that it's making me rethink my decision not to go to Vassar for the Medieval program there.... :/ I think I would have really enjoyed it...
Whatever though...this is a crazy time for me right now. I have lots and lots of headaches and crazy confusion on a lot of things... >_<
...but I digress from my initial intention of starting a report that is due tomorrow (no, not procrastination, I just got it assigned yesterday) that I don't particularly want to since I just finished 25 pages of midterm reports... :( Crazy fucking grad class! Any who. I'm am off. |

1) Don't believe my sister. She's backhanded and decietful and I have had one lie too many told behind my back, one twist too many with the truth. If she says anything about me, go ahead and take that with a grain of salt and then ask me what really happened-- I'll tell you for good and bad the truth. I'm done with her trying to fuck me over in order to advance herself and am now done with her ass. Completely. If she tries to fuck with me again, those of you who know Maire will see a completely different side of me and it will get ugly. Just a warning as I will bury her ass if needed.
2) Housing is still an issue for me, so if anyone is thinking of moving in the Orlando/UCF area, let me know and we might be able to hook up and arrange something.
3) If any of you have anything you want to say about/to me, just fucking do it. |

My bad for having the thought that, ::gasp::shock:: MAYBE you might have learned something or grown up a little. No? Well, I guess it's my fault too for thinking that you weren't the type of person to go behind someone's back and say things around people that I know and would probably hear from the grapevine. Nice to hear that you still are childish and act like a 7 year old when you don't get your way. Glad to hear you still skip class and might drop out again. I'm sorry that you are still refusing to grow up and realize the real world is out there and that you'll eventually have to take care of yourself on your own. You really want to know why I think you have such a hard time of getting into a relationship? You are easily one of the most needy people I have ever met and can't manage to do the simplest things on your own. Most chicks don't want to be mommies in a relationship. But then, what do I know about these things? I am after all just a controlling bitch right? I'm trying to make it down to the last weekend of faire, but not sure how that will work as everyone is staying for spring break and I don't want to...
I'm (finally) taking the test to get a permit next tuesday... I know, I know, I should have it by now, but circumstances prevented me to before...
I'm doing mostly data coding at the research position, though I'm told I might get to be a raider in some of the testing... ^_^
Classes are going mostly good...a bit crazy but good. I'm currently learning how to do encaustic painting... ^_^
I really really really really need sleep.
Anyone hear anything from my sister Maire lately?? |

...finally, despite all the delays! >_< It was lots and lots of fun and I'm told that I did better than she thought I would being the first lesson. :) So I hope to continue on with being able to pick it up good and turn into some awesomely amazingful violin prodigy of d00m that will make everyone stare in awe! Hehehe, ok, so that probably won't happen, but I'm really happy that I'm not terrible at it! :-P

I've got a research assistantship working with the army in the team lab here on the unmanned air and ground robotronics!!!!! :D :D :D :D
...in other news. I have noticed that I'm becomming a bit obsessed with the music of Emilie Autumn and Emilie Simon... I think it's kind of funny that they are both Emilies.... One is an awesome shredolin player (yes, as in electrical violin!) and calls her music "violindustrial", and the other is a quite nifty French chick... They are both classicaly trained and gone a bit crazy. :) I like! |
